About

As a child Hadley received prizes for her hard work and talent. From a young age she knew she would grow up to be an artist and spent her childhood building skills and recognition to realize that dream. She was placed in advanced art classes from an early age and used that as her launchpad into the world of art. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Kansas City Art Institute as the last stepping stone to entering the world of professional art.

Hadley David is an illustrator currently based in Kansas City, Missouri. As a young child addicted to books and television and video games, she longed to bring her own worlds to life through writing and eventually drawing. She works primarily digitally on narrative based illustrations and environmental concepts and designs. She’s very passionate about color theory and language and uses that to influence the moods and themes of her works. Her painterly and rough drawing style is meant to evoke emotion and really capture the feeling rather than realistically draw and render the subject.

Hadley’s been a part of and won several competitions in Oklahoma. She worked on the Altus public library mural from 2014 through 2019. She was also part of a First Friday show in 2019 at the KCAI Crossroads Gallery as part of a collaboration between the art institute and Artists Aretha Aoki and Ryan Macdonald.
